My sister invited me to go to the Quarry at Hwy 3 and Quarrie Road in Port Colbourne with her and her friends the other day. Unfortunately, I already had plans to go bouldering in the Niagara Glen. She was nice enough to send me these photos she took with her Blackberry to share here though.
I haven’t been, but she says its a pretty relaxing day. They’ll bring tubes to float around on and just bask in the sun. There is no boating so no worry about getting crushed by a wake. From what she tells me there isn’t much current either. Being a quarry, its pretty rocky, so I guess the idea is to find a nice flat spot to lay down on some where. Apparently, theres an island in the middle of the water you could swim out to as well!
There are no lifeguards, so keep that in mind and be safe! Use your brain! Never swim alone! Having a few people in your group with CPR and first-aid training is always a good idea.
